Pillars of Work

MSHIELD consists of 3 pillars that provide a foundation upon which we aim to achieve equitable health outcomes for all.

Supporting CQIs to use their data to identify health inequities and develop equity-focused quality improvement goals.

Addressing Social Determinants of Health requires systems-level change; no single entity is equipped to eliminate health inequities. MSHIELD collaborates with community and clinical partners to close the gap between healthcare and social service systems across the state.

Driving a culture of equity across the CQI community to raise awareness and promote anti-racist approaches to quality improvement.

MSHIELD operates with anti-racism as a core value across all processes and outcomes.

MSHIELD condemns all forms of racism and discrimination and commits to leading from an anti-racist disposition by naming, addressing, and taking the necessary steps to eradicate all forms of oppression. With this statement, we position ourselves to stand and take action against all acts and dismantling systems that are oppressive in any form.
