Samantha Cooley, M.S.W.

Samantha is a third-year Osteopathic medical student and has been with MSHIELD since September 2022 serving as a research fellow for the year. As the research assistant, her role is versatile. She assists on various projects within each of the three MSHIELD pillars focusing on health equity and anti-racism initiatives as well as community partnerships and data analysis. 

Samantha is a New Jersey native and a proud Rutgers University Alumni. Before attending medical school and joining the MSHIELD team, she earned her Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees from Rutgers University and The University of Michigan, respectfully.  As a social worker she worked as a veteran services case manager and also deeply enjoyed working in a clinical therapy setting. In her free time, Samantha enjoys going to museums, all things science fiction and playing Rugby.
